Great Christensen Bear Lake Getaway 2011

We were able to visit Utah this summer for about 8 days. We spent 3 days at a house in Bear lake with all of the Christensen side of the family. Here are some pics of our trip. Thursday we arrived, ate dinner and hung out together. Friday we rented a boat, wakeboard and tube. Here's our manly boat driver showin' off his stuff!
Two cousins who love the. . . uh. . .gravel. The lake was so high this year there was no sand.
The kids had fun playing in the water and tubing on the boat despite the rocky shore.
Uncle Aron was in charge of the fire after dinner. Thanks to the suggestion of my fun sister-in-law we had crazy s'mores with Reese's, Symphony bar, dark chocolate, chocolate and carmel and 2 kinds of
marshmallows. It was fun trying out the different combinations.
Each family took turns being in charge of a meal. Here are Erik & Jalyssa preparing yummy breakfast burritos for all of us!

After breakfast we planned to hike through a cave, but the line was too long so we took a detour and attempted a small outdoor hike. It because obvious pretty quickly that the hike was not going to work for 6 kids and a pregnant lady, but we came upon this moose who was enjoying brunch at a pond.
After some of the men played golf in the afternoon, we headed out for pizza. Garden City can be a busy place on a Saturday night, but we were lucky to find a table and a pizza that fed 15 people.
We had to stop and enjoy those yummy Bear Lake rasberry milkshakes. . . and all the other flavors they had.
That evening after getting kids to bed we played Minute to Win It games. Ben and Aron are playing "Bite Me" where they attempt to move an Oreo cookie from their forehead to their mouth without using their hands.
The whole Christensen Gang!
