Alyssa's Baptism

Alyssa was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Sat., April 27th, 2013 @ 10:00 a.m.

A kind neighbor took some pictures of Alyssa in her baptism dress for the invitation and another friend helped me do some editing of the picture to make the invite.  Here are a few pictures from the photo session.
Here is a full length shot of her dress.
I loved the jacket that came with this dress.  It reminds me so much of Alyssa and her "style."

I also loved the headband she picked out.  It went really well with the dress.

Here is the invitation we passed out to several neighbors and Ben's co-workers.  We e-mailed a copy to friends.

Our neighbor, Kaymee Wood, came with her daughter Lorali who is Alysssa's friend.  Ben's co-worker Sorana came with her daughter Avery.  Ben's previous boss, John Roscher, also came from Kingwood.  There were also several people from the ward who came:  The Carruth's, Spencers, Kierste Wade with her daughters Emma and Kate, Karen Haddox, The Anderson's, and Steve Hayes, our home teacher.  The following is a summary of the program:

Bishop Dangerfield conducted.
Amy Spencer was the pianist.
Emilee Carruth stepped in to lead the music.
Jill Johnson gave the talk on Baptism.
Grandma Judy Johnson gave the talk on the Holy Ghost.
The cousins sang "When I Am Baptized" accompanied by Tori.
While everyone was waiting we watched a few videos from the Life of Christ series that's on LDS.org.  After the baptism and confirmation, we stepped into the cultural hall for cookies and water.

Here is Alyssa on her big day.  Aunt Jill helped with the braid in the hair.
A close up of the wrap around braid.

Alyssa with Grandma and Grandpa Johnson.
With sisters and cousins.  Ethan, Allie, Tucker and Mackenzie all sang a special musical number "When I Am Baptized" accompanied by Tori.  It was really special.
Alyssa and Dad in the jumpsuits.  The water was actually really warm!
 Proud Dad.
 Mom and Dad.
 Grandma Christensen.
 Our whole family!

We are so proud of Alyssa and her commitment to choose to be baptized!
