Dinosaur Museum Field Trip

Mackenzie and I had a chance to go with her preschool class to the Houston Museum of Natural History to see the dinosaur and butterfly exhibits.  It was so fun to see the kids' responses to the huge dinosaur bones.
The dinosaur exhibit has these huge beautiful color murals that show what the dinosaurs would have looked like.  Here is Mackenzie with her good friend, Jimmy.
Feeling some animal bones and skin.  There is a tusk and zebra skin.
Mackenzie with her friend Ruby trying to sit still so a butterfly will land on them.
 Hamming it up.
A few of the butterflies we saw.  At one point one was crawling on the back of my neck!  It felt kind of creepy.  I can't say I loved it.

 Petting a walking stick.
We have to get a picture on top of the giant caterpillar every year.  Kira really liked sitting on this and didn't want to get down.  Mackenzie and Kira are with Cooper (friend) and Cooper's brother, Owen.

After visiting both museums, we enjoyed a little picnic lunch on the lawn outside.  It was a great way to end a fun outing.

And that is why I love preschool. All the fun stuff you get to do.
