The girls got out of school on June 2nd, and after a year of hard work they had several activities to celebrate the end of the year. One of the things I love about being a stay-at-home mom is being able to help in each of their classrooms and be involved in their school life. I was able to go on a field trip with Tori to the YMCA activity center. The kids were allowed to pick the activities they got to do based on how many tickets they had earned throughout the year. They got tickets for how well they performed on homework, projects, being helpful in class etc. Tori's group did a waterslide, pony rides, bounce house, climbing wall, volleyball and soccer. It was a fun day that ended up not being too hot so we all felt lucky. Here she is at the end of a busy day relaxing with a few friends in the shade.

The end of year is also not complete without the class awards ceremonies. Each child gets an award for working hard throughout the year. Alyssa looked so grown up at her ceremony. It was hard to believe she will be in 1st grade next year. My camera was dead so a friend kindly snapped a few pictures. (Alyssa's in the purple skirt.)

Tori earned a Principal's award at her awards ceremony for academics and citizenship. Only 2 students are picked in each class: 1 boy and 1 girl. She was really thrilled to be picked.
Both classes had an end of year breakfast on the last day of school. Tori's class watched a movie of the pictures from the YMCA field trip and they announced classmate awards. These awards were voted on by the kids. Tori was given the bookworm award because she's always reading. No surprise there! Alyssa's class had a luau theme complete with decorations and leis. Each kid also received a little treat box with luau favors. Camera was broken for this event so no pics here either. It was a great way to celebrate with all their classmates.
Tori will go to a new school next year for 5th grade and Alyssa will move up to 1st grade. We'll look forward to warm days at the pool and enjoying the summer!

I love the end of school. I am so excited that the girls got awards how fun. Our school did that half way through the year and Erik got one. I to love being able to help in the class rooms what a blessing it is.
