Alyssa wanted to celebrate her birthday this year with a lateover. For anyone that hasn't heard of this term it means you do the same things you would do at a sleepover, but then all the kids go home. It comes from the idea that the kids get to stay up "late" which is a very exciting concept at this age. Alyssa invited 14 girls this year and everyone came! (How often does that happen?) The girls arrived in pjs and brought a pillow for the movie later in the evening. We started off with pizza, rootbeer and fruit. Then a unicorn pinata was demolished as 14 girls took 3 swipes. Needless to say the last few girls didn't get a turn because it was pretty torn apart. Then the girls rotated among the Kinect Adventures game, decorating a pillowcase with fabric markers, and getting their nails painted courtesy of Tori and a friend, Kylee. Next was the all important cake and opening of presents. We repeated the "girls under sleeping bags" cake from Tori's 7th birthday. Finally the girls settled down to watch Barbie in a Mermaid Tale 2. What more could a bunch of rowdy, giggly, silly 7 year olds want? It was a lot of fun, and Alyssa had a blast with all of her friends. Here are a few pics from the evening.

Alyssa loves bright pink, purple and turquoise so that was the
color scheme for the evening. |

Nail time! Mackenzie was in girly heaven running around
with the big girls. |

Enjoying cake with school buddy, Ashlyn. They had to
share a seat because we just didn't have enough chairs! |

Playing Kinect Adventures. Some really liked this
and some just wanted to play outside. |

So like so much fun. It's funny I just learned what a lateover was just the other day so I totally new what you were talking about. What a fun idea. Plus you need to teach me how to do those pom pom things I want about 3-5 for Kambries room in the corner.
Ah, come on Mona- you didn't have 14 chairs! :) The decorations, etc. were just perfect for the evening. They all look so happy!! Your girls are lucky to have you.
