It seems like every year we have a birthday party for the girls the parties are totally centered on what that girls are into at that time. This seems to especially apply to Tori. Two years ago was a puppy party, and this year she's crazy about the Warriors book series. Dogs to cats. . .what's next? She told me there is something like 60 books and she's on the last set. The books are about cats that live in clans in the wild. Fighting, surviving, raising kits etc. It's actually really interesting. So this year her birthday party was a combined party with her friend Rylee that loves this book series as well. Here are a few pictures from the Warriors party 2012!
The invites were a tan cardstock with a Warrios map printed on the inside and the edges burned to make it look old. I also printed cat feet on the opposite side of the map so it loo4ked like a cat had rolled it up. Pretty sneaky huh? The girls were invited to join the RiverClan at the gathering place. The party was at Rylee's house because they have a swimming pool which totally fits into the "river" type theme. Although cats don't really like to swim do they? These cats do. . .
The girls were welcomed by this amazing waterfall scene that they had to pass through to become Warrior cats. My friend, Christina, spent hours making this just right!
Then they came to a station where they got a badge that gave them their Warrior name and a picture of what their cat character looked like.
Then they made cat ear headbands to help them really become a Warrior Cat, and we painted noses and whiskers on them. Next we took the girls on a scavenger hunt to rescue a lost Kit. They loved searching for the clues at the ponds and parks all around the two-leg area. (This is the Warrior for the humans.) We wore them out with all the running around they had to do. Once they rescued Stormkit, we headed back for snacks, cake and ice cream.

The Warriors cake! The little sign says, "Happy Birthday Tori and Rylee."
This was by far the most complicated but fun cake I've ever made. The trees are sculpted from fondant with buttercream piped on top using a grass tip. The waterfall is fondant with sparkle blue gel on top. The bubbles were made from white buttercream and little pearl beads that I had. The rocks were sculpted from fondant, and the cats were found last minute in the toy section of Joanne's. We ended up having about 10 cats on the cake! |

| The feeding table. We had signs that said "Pick your prey" and "Fresh kill." the food included medicine herbs = a trail mix with popcorn. Fresh carp = watermelon, cantaloupe, and honeydew slices cut in fish shapes. Fish = Goldfish crackers . Mice meat = BBQ meatballs. River water = blue punch. |
