May Flowers

Okay, the May flowers around here are our cute girls.  Here's what we've been up to in the month of May.
Our dentist rented out this neighborhood waterpark for the evening and let any of her patients and families have a pool party.  It was super fun.  We have a few friends that go to this dentist as well so it worked out great for the kids.  They all had friends to hang around with.  This is Alyssa going down the waterslide.  Her and her friend couldn't get enough of it.

Kira on the other hand was cold and grumpy.  We ended up leaving a little early to get her to bed.
Mackenzie completed a session of swim lessons.  She passed Level I and most of Level II.  She's a fish and has never had any fear of the water.  Her teacher kept having to remind her to stay on the step because she always wanted to just go for it and swim!
Little Kira turned 6 months on Memorial Day, 5/28/12.  She's sitting up now with a little support.  Rolling over from her tummy to her back and almost has the other way down as well.  She's starting to talk a little more now as well and giggle when the girls do silly things to make her laugh.
The end of the month brought the end of the school year and the traditional awards.  Tori got A & B Honor Roll (the certificate) meaning she had all A's and B's throughout the entire year.  (Mostly A's I might add.)  The trophy is for 500 AR points.  The more AR points, the bigger the trophy.  She was 1 of about 7 in the whole 5th grade to get 500.  AR points are points awarded for books the kids read throughout the school year.  Harder books have more AR points alloted to them.  Tori loves to read so this is her thing.  The hardest part for her was keeping up on the little test you have to take on the computer to prove you read the book so your points are counted.  She had a great year!
Here is Alyssa at her class pancake breakfast.
She was voted most cheerful by her classmates in their class awards.
Here is Alyssa with her great teacher, Mrs. Skinner.  Too bad she can't move up to 2nd grade.  Alyssa also had a great year.  Her reading has taken off and she loves to sit around now and read books.  Lately she has really liked sitting and reading the scriptures herself.  What a great kid and good example to our whole family!
