Kira's 1 years old!

Since Grandma and Grandpa were in town for Thanksgiving, we decided to move up Kira's birthday celebration so we celebrated on Sunday evening. Poor Kira will probably always be thrust in between Thanksgiving festivities and Christmas preparation since her birthday is on Nov. 28th. This year she didn't seem to mind.  Our celebration consisted of a few balloons and a birthday banner, opening her presents, and enjoying her first cupcake. She loved playing with the balloons but still needed help opening her presents. We got her this set of balls because for some reason it's one of those toys we just didn't have at all. She's liked rolling them back and forth to us.

Big sisters are always willing to help open presents!

This girl cracked me up.  She couldn't decide what to do with the cupcake at first.  This progression of pictures makes me laugh to look at even now.  The girl who loves to eat wouldn't touch the cupcake at first.
Then she took a little lick with no hands.
 Maybe another. . .
Then we showed her how she could hold it and she devoured it.  Because most of it ended up as crumbs in her high chair we even gave her a second one.  Here's to my cutie 1 year old baby!  My how the last year has flown by.

Here is Kira's 1 year picture we had taken.  I made the onesie and tutu to match the cute polka dot leg warmers we had gotten as a gift from a friend when she was born.  You can tell she's not thrilled to be getting her picture taken by a strange lady and this was even round two in our attempt at pictures.  I think she looks adorable anyway!

Reasons we love Kira:
1.  I love, love, love her sweet smile.  Right now she has 2 teeth on the bottom and her smile is to die for.
2.  She loves mom, dad, and sisters and really no one else.
3.  She has a loud squeal when she gets excited or really upset.  We've always said she has really loud vocal cords for a baby.  Maybe someday she'll put them to good use and be a singer.
4.  She loves to see daddy when he gets home from work and will crawl so fast to see him and reach up to give him a hug.
5.  She lights up our world and brings so much joy to our family!

To bad we couldn't stay through the weekend. I am so glad she had a good birthday. I love how she didn't know what to do with her cupcake.
